Ballistic & Blast Protection: Engineering Resilience Against Extreme Threats
The 2022 Oslo government building shooting – where 9mm rounds penetrated standard glazing – highlights deadly vulnerabilities in public spaces. KFORTS’ bulletproof glass windows, certified to EN 1063 BR7 (resisting .308 rifle fire) and EN1522-1523 FB7, provide life-saving ballistic containment. Our blast-resistant systems exceed EN 13541 Level ER4 standards, proven during 2023 NATO facility testing to withstand 150kg TNT blasts at 30m.
Key innovations in our ballistic-resistant solutions:Hybrid glass-ceramic-PVB laminates absorbing 7,500+ Joules of impact energyAnti-explosion interlayers preventing spall fragmentation (per ISO 16933)Structural framing compliant with EN 13123 for pressure cycling
In 2021, our blast-proof glass curtain wall at a Paris embassy contained a vehicle-born IED detonation, limiting structural damage and preventing fatalities. The system’s ballistic resistance simultaneously stopped secondary gunfire – demonstrating multi-threat performance. For critical infrastructure, KFORTS offers bulletproof glass partitions with UL 752 Level 10 ratings alongside European certifications. Our blast-resistant façades maintain <15mm deflection under 30kPa overpressure, exceeding EN 13124 requirements.
