Fire Containment Solutions Saving Lives Through Compartmentation
KFORTS redefines passive fire safety with EN 13501-2 certified fire rated glazing achieving EI30-EI120 integrity/insulation ratings. Our fireproof glass doors and glass partitions contain deadly smoke and flames for critical evacuation time – as proven during the 2024 Milan office tower fire where EI60 barriers prevented horizontal fire spread for 73 minutes.
Unlike traditional wired glass, our fire resistance systems maintain surface temperatures <140°C on unexposed sides through patented ceramic gel-core technology. This exceeds the insulation requirements of EN 1363-1 furnace testing while providing crystal clarity. Key applications include:Fire resistant glass curtain walls with intumescent seals (EN 1364-3 compliant)Glass windows surviving thermal shock during firefighter hose stream tests (EN 1363-2)
Emergency corridor glass partitions blocking smoke migration
The Grenfell Tower tragedy highlighted how inadequate compartmentation costs lives. KFORTS’ solutions address this through:1 Integrity maintenance preventing flame penetration2 Insulation limiting heat transfer to <140°C3 Full compatibility with EN 16034 certified hardware
For atriums, hospitals, and high-rises, our transparent fire rated systems deliver certified life safety without architectural compromise. Partner with KFORTS to transform transparency into protection.
