The Barrier That Breathes: How Fire Rated Glazing Balances Safety and Design"..
The Grenfell Tower tragedy remains a somber reminder of the catastrophic consequences of inadequate fire compartmentation. KFORTS’ fire rated glazing, compliant with EN 13501-2, provides EI30 to EI120 classifications for integrity (E) and insulation (I). Our fireproof glass doors and glass partitions create transparent barriers that contain flames and smoke while limiting heat transmission—crucial for safe egress and asset protection.
Unlike traditional wired glass, KFORTS’ fire resistance systems leverage ceramic technology to exceed EN 1363-1 thermal shock tests. These solutions blend seamlessly into glass curtain walls and glass windows, meeting aesthetic demands while ensuring compliance with European safety regulations. Additionally, intumescent seals rated to EN 1364-3 expand at high temperatures to seal perimeter gaps, preventing smoke leakage. With decades of innovation, KFORTS empowers architects to design spaces where transparency coexists with life-saving compartmentation.
