Fortifying Modern Architecture with Burglar-Resistant Security Glass Window and Doors
How KFORTS’ System Building Physics Redefines Safe House DesignIn 2022, a high-profile burglary in Munich targeting a luxury villa exposed vulnerabilities in conventional glazing systems. Intruders breached standard laminated glass within minutes, underscoring the urgent need for burglar-resistant solutions compliant with EN 1627-1630 standards. At KFORTS, our Security Glass for glass windows and glass doors achieves RC6 (Resistance Class 6) certification, resisting sustained attacks from powerful tools for 50 minutes.
Our multi-layered system building physics approach integrates laminated glass with polycarbonate interlayers and reinforced steel frames. This configuration not only meets EN 13049 for wind load resistance but also ensures thermal insulation (U-value ≤1.6 W/m²K) per EN 673. For façade applications, we employ structural glazing systems that maintain burglar resistance while achieving STC 44 sound insulation – critical for urban safe houses near high-traffic zones.
The 2023 Frankfurt Bank heist further validated our combined performances philosophy. KFORTS’ hybrid security glass with embedded alarm sensors detected intrusion attempts at 3 ATM pressure levels (EN 356 P8B), triggering automatic lockdowns. Such innovations redefine modern safe house standards, blending passive defense with smart monitoring.
