Ensuring Life Safety Through Advanced Fire Rated Compartmentation
In building design, containing a fire is as crucial as detecting it. Fire rated glazing from KFORTS plays a vital role in passive fire protection, creating transparent barriers that compartmentalize a blaze, slow its spread, and protect escape routes.
Our fireproof glass partitions and glass doors are certified to the EN 13501-2 standard, achieving integrity (E) and insulation (I) ratings such as EI30, EI60 and EI120. This means they can withstand direct flames for 30, 60, and 120 minutes while preventing the transfer of radiant heat, which can ignite materials on the other side. The Grenfell Tower tragedy remains a stark reminder of how rapid fire spread through a building can be catastrophic.
Unlike traditional wired glass, KFORTS' fire resistance systems offer superior clarity and can be incorporated into modern glass curtain walls and glass windows, meeting both aesthetic and stringent safety requirements. By choosing KFORTS' certified fire rated solutions, architects and builders ensure compliance with building regulations and, most importantly, provide occupants with the critical time needed to evacuate safely.
