Mitigating Extreme Threats: Ballistic and Blast Resistant Solutions
The need for transparent armor has expanded into the architectural domain, protecting embassies, banks, public buildings, and even premium residences. KFORTS meets this critical demand with advanced bullet proof glazing solutions engineered to the stringent European ballistic standard EN 1063.
Our ballistic resistance systems, rated from BR4 to BR7, are designed to stop high-caliber rounds and, crucially, contain dangerous spall (glass fragments) upon impact. The tragic 2020 attack in Vienna underscored how fragmentation from standard windows can cause severe secondary injuries. Similarly, the threat of explosions necessitates blast resistant glazing. Our blast proof solutions, developed in line with EN 13123/13124 principles, are engineered to absorb the energy of a pressure wave, preventing the glass façade from shattering into lethal projectiles—a key lesson from the 2016 Brussels airport bombing.
KFORTS' anti-explosion glass curtain walls and bullet resistant glass doors provide a robust protective envelope without sacrificing aesthetics or natural light, representing a vital investment in life safety for any high-risk environment.
