KFORTS’ fire rated glazing complies with EN 13501-2, achieving EI30, EI45, EI60,EI90, and EI120 classifications for integrity (E) and insulation (I). Our fireproof glass doors and glass partitions contain flames and smoke for up to 120 minutes, as demonstrated during the 2024 Copenhagen hospital fire, where EI60 barriers prevented horizontal fire spread for over 60 minutes. The Grenfell Tower tragedy emphasized the catastrophic consequences of inadequate fire compartmentation.
Unlike traditional wired glass, our fire resistance technology uses ceramic gel-core interlayers to maintain surface temperatures below 140°C on the unexposed side, exceeding EN 1363-1 testing requirements. These systems are integral to glass curtain walls and glass windows in modern buildings, providing transparent compartmentation without compromising aesthetics. KFORTS’ fire rated solutions incorporate intumescent seals (EN 1364-3 compliant) that expand at 120°C to seal perimeter gaps.
